The Monetary Council of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank was deeply saddened to learn the tragedy that befell the Republic of Poland, in which President Lech Kaczyński, his wife and nearly 100 fellow countrymen, including Sławomir Stanisław Skrzypek, President of the Narodowy Bank Polski, lost their lives.
On Sunday, Governor András Simor, on behalf of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, paid a visit of condolence to the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Budapest.
The members of the Monetary Council and the employees of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank wish to express their deepest sympathy to the family members of the deceased and join in the mourning of the Polish nation and the employees of the Narodowy Bank Polski.
