Magyar Nemzeti Bank Research Directorate

The Research Directorate of Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB, the central bank of Hungary) is soliciting applications for its 2017 Summer Visiting Researcher Program for researchers with a recently obtained PhD-degree, advanced PhD-students, and ESCB researchers.

During their stay, Visitors would conduct research on a topic of their choice, preferably in collaboration with or under the supervision of members of the Research Directorate. The Program also provides an opportunity for Visiting Researchers to interact and exchange ideas with MNB staff economists.

Proposed projects, theoretical or empirical, should be of interest to MNB. Preference is given to topics that are related to the current activities of the Bank or monetary policy in general.

Research papers are invited to be published in the MNB Working Paper series. Furthermore, MNB encourages and supports the submission of papers to refereed journals.

Successful academic applicants will receive a compensation package during their time at MNB, while ESCB visitors (under the existing exchange arrangement) are expected to be financed by their home institution.

The preferred starting date of the program is July 1, 2017. The typical tenure is 2-3 months and includes July and August.
