The security features of the 2000 forint banknote

In the light

When the banknote is held up to the light, the mirror image of a multi-toned watermark of the printed portrait of Gábor Bethlen and, positioned horizontally, the value numeral "2000" in a lighter colour than that of the banknote appear; embedded in the paper, the security thread gets visible; irregular shapes of an image printed on the front and back of the banknote combine to form a complete "H" (see-through register).

Watermark

When the banknote is held up to the light, you can see the mirror image of a multi-toned watermark of the portrait of Gábor Bethlen on the left, the horizontal number "2000" appears in a lighter tone than that of the banknote. (visible from both sides)

Security thread

Embedded in the paper, it can be checked when the banknote is held up to the light. Under a magnifying glass, the inscription "MNB" and the number "2000" appear repeatedly. (visible from both sides)

See-through register

Irregular shapes of an image printed on the front and back of the banknote combine to form a complete "H" when held up to the light. (visible from both sides)

Moving

Move the mouse to the gray area at the left corner of the banknote. If you move the mouse up and down or right and left, the banknote rotates and tilts to the right direction. (You can see the changing of the visual elements of the holographic foil and check the colour-changing effect of the optically variable ink.)

Move the mouse at the half-round area to rotate the banknote horizontally. (You can see that the inscription of "H" appears in the hidden picture, and check the iridescent printing on the backside.)

Optically variable ink

Visible on the front of the "2000" forint banknote. When tilted the central motif of the front side of the banknote changes from gold to green.

Holographic foil

On the front of the banknote you can see an articulated holographic foil strip to the left banknote. On its surface, the mirror image of the portrait of Gábor Bethlen, the coat of arms of Hungary and horizontally there is a number "2000".

Iridescent printing

On the back of the banknote, there is a golden stripe on the right side of the banknote, in which the number "2000" appears when the banknote is tilted.

Hidden image

If the banknote is held near eye level and rotated in plane, the inscription "H" appears in ornamental motif.

Intaglio printing

Intaglio print is used for the main printed motifs of the banknotes - portrait of Gábor Bethlen, denomination both in figures and letters, the coat of arms of Hungary, the inscription "MAGYAR NEMZETI BANK"; three horizontal lines on the bottom of the holographic foil, historical scene on the back.

Tactility

On the bottom left corner of the banknote, there are three horizontal lines with high tactility that helps the blind and visually impaired people to identify the value of the banknote.
