The MNB holds euro-liquidity providing swap tender on 18 September

Budapest, September 17, 2020 In accordance with the decision of the Monetary Council on September 8, 2020, the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) will hold a swap tender providing euro liquidity on Friday, September 18, 2020. The MNB will publish the tender invitation containing the parameters of the competitive euro/forint FX swap tender on 18 September 2020 at 8am on the central bank's website and on its news agency websites. The result of the tender will be announced at 12pm. The tender settlement is T + 2 business days, its maturity is 1 October 2020. The primary objective of the MNB shall be to achieve and maintain price stability. (...) Without prejudice to its primary objective, the MNB shall support the maintenance of the stability of the system of financial intermediation, the enhancement of its resilience, its sustainable contribution to economic growth; furthermore, the MNB shall support the government’s economic policy and its policy related to environmental sustainability, using instruments at its disposal.
