Dr Kocziszky is Dean of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Miskolc, Director of the Institute for Global and Regional Economics and Head of the Regional Economics Department. He graduated as a mechanical engineer at the Technical University of Heavy Industry of Miskolc in 1972. He received his candidate’s degree in 1984 and completed his habilitation ten years later. Between 1991 and 1997 he served as the Vice Rector of the University.

Dr Kocziszky’s research fields include the economics of European integration as well as regional economics, and growth and development theories. Between 1992 and 1994 he was Chairman of the Rationalisation Sub-Committee of the Academy’s Management and Organisation Science Expert Committee, then, between 1990 and 2000, member of the Academy’s Management and Organisation Science Committee. In 2006 he was Head of the Jean Monnet Centre for Excellence and, between 2007 and 2010, member of the Economics Expert Committee of the Hungarian Accreditation Committee.
