From 18 March 2011, individual voting records of the members of the MNB’s Monetary Council will be published in time-series form, in line with international best practice. Although these data have been available in the abridged minutes of the Council’s policy meetings published since December 2004, the structured time-series database is better suited for analyses. In addition, the database enhances the transparency and accountability of monetary policy, which, in turn, can help anchor inflation expectations through strengthening central bank credibility, as international research has suggested. In the future, the database will be updated at the time the minutes of the Monetary Council’s policy meetings are published.
