The ICS operated by the GIRO Elszámolásforgalmi Zrt. carries out the processing of high volume transactions (credit transfer, direct debit etc.) with low individual values between credit institutions. The three platforms of the ICS are the overnight settlement, intraday settlement and instant settlement, which has been opened for the submission of customer transactions since 2 March 2020. The services provided by the ICS are essential for the economy, therefore, the MNB classified the system as an “important payment system”. The MNB continuously monitors and oversees the operation of the ICS.
The ICS works permanently reliably, in accordance with the expectations, and due to the redundant solutions applied, in the past period it was able to provide 100% availability.
