Magyar Nemzeti Bank urges regional cooperation on financial stability issues


At the initiative of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, deputy governors responsible for financial stability and other senior executives of Central and Eastern European central banks will be holding discussions on Friday, 6 June 2008 in Budapest. At the closed event entitled ‘Central Bank Round Table on Financial Stability: Effects of market turbulence on Central and Eastern Europe’, experts will be discussing the impact of the recent financial market disruption on the CEE region as well as possible ways to cooperate on various financial stability issues.


The event will be opened by András Simor, Governor of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank. The Governor’s speech, to be delivered this evening, will be available on the MNB’s website at www.mnb.hu in the morning on Friday, 6 June.
