The share of foreign-issued securities in household savings is growing

In the past 12 months, households have directly purchased nearly HUF 400 billion worth of foreign-issued securities. This accounts for 12.5 per cent of the sector’s annual financial savings. Households’ holdings of foreign securities accounted for 2.6 per cent of their net financial wealth at the end of April 2023. The primary objective of the MNB shall be to achieve and maintain price stability. (...)
