Ms Bártfai-Mager graduated from the Budapest University of Economics and then went on to study at the Institute for International Relations in Moscow. She started her professional career at Postabank where she worked, among others, as leading risk manager and as the CEO’s professional secretary. In 2001 she joined the Magyar Nemzeti Bank where she held the position of Head of Department until 2005. Between 2005 and 2007 she was Head of the Bank’s Financial Stability area. She represented the Bank in the work of the ESCB’s Committee of European Banking Supervisors and was member of the joint crisis management working group of the European Union and the European Central Bank.

Between 2007 and 2010 Ms Bártfai-Mager was member of the Competition Council of the Hungarian Competition Authority and executive in charge of matters related to competition law and consumer protection as well as to the financial intermediary system and its participants. From 2010 Ms Bártfai-Mager was Executive Director of the Hungarian Official Journal Publisher and was involved in the project to stabilise the company’s finances and restore its profitability.
