The denominations of the bank note series issued since 2014 have all the visible and hidden characteristics guaranteeing modernity and reliable operation for all the participants in cash circulation including households, commercial cashiers, operators of ATMs, financial institutions, and the central bank.

The appearance of the renewed forint banknotes reflects both the necessary improvements stemming from user needs, and the values to be preserved: the graphical tradition of Hungarian banknotes of several decades, the meticulously drawn portraits and pictures on the back. The graphic design of the renewed forint banknote series was created by graphic designer György Pálinkás.

The banknote paper is made in the plant of Diósgyőr Paper Mill Limited, and the banknotes are printed in Hungarian Banknote Printing Shareholding Company.

The raw material for the banknote paper is cotton, its basic colour is white, and the dimensions are the same for all denominations: 154 mm x 70 mm.

The banknotes feature several security elements offering protection against counterfeiting. These include visible features and others that can only be identified using special equipment. The banknotes contain security elements with similar appearance, that are placed on all denominations and others that only certain denominations feature.
