On 16 April, 2003 the Magyar Nemzeti Bank issued silver collector coins of a face value of HUF 5,000 on the merits of Hollókő from the point of view of architecture and folk art – as a continuation of the coin series „World Heritage in Hungary”.

The collector coin was designed by Enikő Szöllőssy, sculptor. The reverse side depicts the most characteristic part of Hollókő, the Y-shape junction of the old village center. On the front side of the coin there is the picture of the castle, an image also closely connected with Hollókő.

The coin was made of silver with a fineness of 925‰, weighing 31.46 grams, with a diameter of 38.61 mm, with milled edge.

10,000 can be minted , out of which 5,000 with the special – so called „proof” - technology.
