“Gyula Castle” collector coin

On 18 May 2007 the Magyar Nemzeti Bank issued a silver collector coin “Gyula Castle” with a face value of HUF 5,000 in the “Hungarian Castles” series.

On the obverse of the coin there is an outline of Gyula Castle, while the reverse shows the castle and its reflection in the lake next to it.

The coin was designed by György Kiss.

The coin is made of .925 fine silver, weighs 31.46 grams, and has a diameter of 38.61 mm and a reeded edge.

8,000 collector coins may be struck, of which 4,000 are produced by the special “proof” technology.

The coin may be purchased from the Hungarian Mint Ltd., Budapest, Könyves Kálmán körút 38, or from the shop in the Magyar Nemzeti Bank’s Visitor Centre. The coin is available at face value for three months from its date of issue.
